Amanda B
46:21
@Clayton - see question for you in the chat. @CommCare, what are your data coding/data modeling approaches? Are you using coded information from CIEL/SNOMED/LOINC, etc.?
Clayton Sims
47:06
Hi Amanda. Our data model is readily available to integrate using the WHO's data coding, as the model is build directly against the FFX protocol
Clayton Sims
47:28
That being said we can code outgoing information in whatever format is relevant to downstream systems
Andrew Kanter
48:07
The WHO Data set does not include actual codes, for it to be interoperable with other systems (like OpenMRS) it would be great to have coded information in the database with standard codes
Clayton Sims
48:43
Hey Andy - True, we can definitely make sure that existing mapping is available. as an asset.
Andrew Kanter
48:45
Thanks for the quick response!
Garrett Mehl
49:12
@Andy and @Clayton we can work on that in the OpenHIE task force
Garrett Mehl
49:47
LOINC and ICD have been developing concepts, so we can work on mapping to those
Andrew Kanter
50:03
@Garrett, we have already done all the mapping
Clayton Sims
50:16
@Garret - Definitely. The critical thing I want to highlight is that organizations can get started collecting data and performing Contact Tracing today without concern that the data model will be incompatible with the downstream needs
Clayton Sims
53:06
It's quite straightforward for us to feed the eventual data into both Case Reporting systems and into other HIS databases
Garrett Mehl
53:09
@Clayton - yes understood
Skye Gilbert
54:17
@MedicMobile: Can you talk more about what needs you and your partners see around PHC workflow modification? What are examples of some changes you anticipate, in the coming year, for CHW's supporting PHC?
Paulo Lopes
54:37
ok
Amanda B
54:38
All slides and the recording will be shared on our wiki and in an email following this webinar.
Scott Hughes
55:10
Yes
Minu Limbu
56:47
hello, please do kindly record this so that we can share later
Tim Wood
56:57
@Clayton/Dimagi and @Amanda/CHT: it would be useful to see a specific list of countries where CommCare and MedicMobile already have a footprint. You've both emphasized the need to build on existing systems and it'd help to know where those are. Similarly it would be nice to see in which of those countries there is an active conversation with MoH about deploying COVID-19 apps
Helen Olsen
57:08
@Skye, yes absolutely. We anticipate (and are already seeing) shifts from in-person to call/messaging based visits for some PHC services, as well as no touch policies being implemented by some of our partner organizations. There will be a need for CHW training on new workflows for PHC, as well as the ability to monitor the impact of these new workflows on the delivery of PHC.
Bianca Poll
57:36
We are recording the presentation and sharing the slides afterwards. Thanks Minu!

@Tim Wood. I would think the Digital Health Atlas would have solutions per country, right @Garrett
Amanda B
58:47
Can you drop the link for the You Tube demo in the chat Michael?
Garrett Mehl
59:13
@Clayton @Amanda Could you please register COVID-19 delployments in Digitalhealthatlas.org as we will be highlighting those at WHO
Tim Wood
59:42
@Wayan - one would hope. But I'm also interested to hear where orgs are having active conversations about COVID-19 with MoH (and where perhaps conversations need to be catalyzed)

For those interested in coding of the data elements I would recommend folks look to the CIEL dictionary (with all standard code maps) which is available on openconceptlab.org. I link to the current subset of COVID-19-related terms are at: https://openconceptlab.org/orgs/CIEL/collections/COVID-19-Starter-Set/concepts/ Updates will be happening regularly. If you have concepts which are missing and need to be shared with others, email them to me at: ask2164@cumc.columbia.edu

Wayan Vota
01:01:32
@Tim - Amanda looks to be doing that for GG, but I wonder how many orgs are willing to share such intel publicly
Garrett Mehl
01:01:34
@Tim @Wayan yes those deployments should be in the digitalhealthatlas.org but I am not seeing those yet represented
Clayton Sims
01:02:28
@Garret - I'll ask the team to go update, things are moving quite quickly, so some of them are only from the last couple days
Garrett Mehl
01:03:33
@Clayton - thanks
Clayton Sims
01:03:41
Although we aren't directly involved in all CommCare platform solutions, so we will only have access to the ones we are specifically supporting
Clayton Sims
01:04:05
We can maybe eblast folks to ask them to register their own as well
Amanda B
01:04:11
@Tim - I just started collecting information for DSQ approved global goods to note where tools are deployed for Covid and which countries are adapting tools (not deployed yet). Once I have a bit more in my crowdsourced document (that I started last night), I will share. We want to get this on the DSQ wiki for transparency as well.
Vikas D
01:04:43
Do all these systems follow the same data model to be able to make comparisons across different data collected?
Jean-Claude Kamelan
01:05:27
Are these Android applications accessible and installable in other countries depending that it is quite difficult to install other Android application based on region and ToC
Amanda B
01:05:36
@Vikas - that is one of the goals of the OpenHIE COVID 19 Task force. To provide guidance for data models, data exchange etc.
Skye Gilbert
01:07:06
@Garrett- if there is a specific way COVID deployments should be tagged and/or characterized in DHA, I'm wondering if it's worth taking a bit of time in this call to share that guidance and/or we can include guidance in follow-up to this webinar. That way contributors know how to enter the information and consumers know how to search
Vikas D
01:07:27
thanks @Amanda! this will be a major challenge for interoperability and comparisons across data systems.
Amanda B
01:08:00
Great question Skye! @Garrett, please share information in the chat and we'll make sure this is shared in follow up to this webinar.
Andrew Kanter
01:08:09
@Vikas, that is also why sharing the coded data dictionary was such a key step: https://openconceptlab.org/orgs/CIEL/collections/COVID-19-Starter-Set/concepts/
Garrett Mehl
01:08:13
@Skye There is a COVID-19 health focus in the project registration questionnaire… many additional changes are coming by end of week
Rebecca Potter
01:08:20
Hi Jean Claude. The DHIS2 Android Capture app can be accessed and installed through GooglePlay (or through other channels as needed by a country, i.e. distribution of an APK through mobile device management for mass deployment is possible). We've included instructions to access the Android demo in the slidedeck.
Garrett Mehl
01:08:49
@skye for the Digitalhealthatlas.org
Clayton Sims
01:08:52
@Jean Claude - CommCare is accessible installable through Google Play as well
Vikas D
01:09:14
@Andrew, this is great!!
Steve Ollis
01:09:28
@Skye - under Implenmetation overview - health focus area - Infectious Diseases COVID-19 is at the top if the list in the DHA
Amanda B
01:09:56
Thanks Garrett and Steve!
Séverine Erismann
01:10:09
@Rebecca, Shurajit - who can see the contacts in DHIS2 (contact tracing), and how are privacy / ethical use of data assured in this (with regards to names - are they anonymized for some users)?
Carl Leitner
01:10:12
@vikas, @all we are trying to document data models across standards and tools here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1aB27qqWl-ragGlJT8FnqzKkcqRrrY_i2LiYcTLlXbNE/edit#gid=1423804326

REALLY excited about the DHA adaptations to increase visibility on COVID deployments. will be super valuable for the community. Echoing Amanda's thanks!
Vikas D
01:13:01
@Carl!! this
Vikas D
01:13:42
@Carl!! this is great. will be very useful for interoperability!!
Bianca Poll
01:13:55
Hi all, please post your questions here in the chat. @Garrett, we can skip the facilitated discussion and give you 5 minutes at the end of the presentations, to screenshare and demo/talk about DHA and the DHA adaptations. That is, if we can all stick to time :) Just let me know.
Carl Leitner
01:15:26
@Vikas - this will be the input to the work for the OpenHIE Covid-19 TaskForce
Vikas D
01:16:44
@all, do we have lab systems or logistics systems to manage covid data?
Vikas D
01:17:59
@Carl, looking forward to the taskforce...
Rebecca Potter
01:18:00
@severine the access settings are configurable so it can be determined which users (or groups of users) can see contacts. It is also possible to restrict this by catchment area, for example a user can only see patients personally identifiable data for their facility or catchment area (this applies to all personally identifiable data). In addition, there is a concept of 'breaking the glass' where, depending on how user access is configured, a user may request to view a person's data outside of their usual catchment area.

01:25:43
@Vikas yes, you can see OpenELIS (labs) in that sheet. Also OpenLMIS and the Product Catalog Management Tool have been thinking through how they can support their response
Vikas D
01:26:58
great, thanks @Carl!!
Emily Nicholson
01:29:35
@Candy, a CHW probably would not use the tool to reconcile lists of facilities, as this tends to be done at a central level, as a management function. However, if a CHW is a recipient of constantly changing lists of facilities, s/he would benefit from decision makers using the tool to manage dynamic lists.

hi

01:40:53
Really nice reflections Matt! We have indeed come far as a digital community.

Helen Olsen
01:44:25
These visuals are beautiful, Matt
Derek Treatman
01:51:45
thanks @Matt for highlighting some of the tools that go beyond just immediate covid response - important to anticipate the needs of recovering health systems after the curve flattens
Andrew Kanter
01:52:07
I have to drop for another meeting, but if folks have any questions about the CIEL dictionary or the maps, please reach out to me. Thanks for some amazing presentation and more importantly, for such amazing work!
Derek Treatman
01:52:08
it's important that other disease surveillance activities like malaria eradication maintain their momentum and protocols are modified as necessary to protect health workers and households - we'll be discussing more about how covid is affecting malaria elimination on our next Digital Solutions for Malaria Elimination (https://dsme.community) call on Apr 9 - all are welcome
Garrett Mehl
01:52:56
Terrific work everyone. Apologies that I have to drop
Sherri Bucher
01:55:36
Will we provided with copies of the slide decks?
constance newman
01:58:46
This is not a question for now. But given the almost lightening speed with which COVID 19 seems to develop in a population, how can any or all of these digital solutions become even more responsive and nimble in real time as an epidemic progresses? To what extent is this capability necessary?
Clayton Sims
01:59:02
Hi Constance - I couldn't agree more

I think ensuring that focusing on what is available turnkey today is a really critical focus
Clayton Sims
02:00:25
One thing we've seen across all of our COVID response projects to date is that users have made changes to their applications and deployed multiple versions even in the weeks since they've started

Any time! Given how little time is available for teams to evaluate tools for response it's really important to make sure that they have access to verified / researched validation

To add a few details that were skipped in the mHero presentation:- As it is now uses FHIR, mHero is more interoperable with different HIS platforms and this makes it possible to do cross-sector messaging and even messaging of patients- On the side of the communication platform, mHero can connect with an existing call center and automated responses for triaging incoming requests for information- On both sides, free and open source platforms can be used, and ideally are existing in country to reduce time to start using mHero- The interface has been updated to match iHRIS v5 and is much more user-friendly- Installation and deployment has been simplified- Contact and contact group syncing has been improved so contact records can be automatically managed
